Eight Family Games with a Christmas Theme
I love to play games during the holidays. We try to add a few new ones every year and this year, I wanted to include a Christmas themed game. My kids are in college and beyond, but they still enjoy playing family games. That is truly the magic of Christmas!
Here are some of our favorites and a few that are on my list this year!

Fans of Trivial Pursuit will love this Christmas version. I bought this years ago and used the Trivial Pursuit board as a base. However, it is just as fun to grab a handful of cards and read them out loud to your group to see how well you know your Christmas trivia.
We love Monopoly at our house and there are so many version of Monopoly with a Christmas theme! Elf is our personal favorite, but I have also played Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and A Christmas Story. Christmas-opoly is another option, but I haven’t played that one before.
Fans of whodunit games, this holiday game is for you! As they are preparing for Christmas at the North Pole, all the presents go missing and six Elves are suspects. Can you figure out who did it?
The classic game of charades in a holiday version. Cards include Christmas movies and characters and is a lot of fun for a mixed generations group.
I found this game while researching for a new game to play at Christmas that was different. As much as I love Monopoly and trivia games, I thought it would be fun to try something unique. Enter Holiday Fever Family Board Game. Check out this video I found that explains the game.
This is such a cute version of this kids game – even for adults. The Abominable Snowman is the patient this time around. Players are challenged to pull out the Jingle Tingle, Mistletoe, Sweet Tooth, Belly Full of Jelly, Royal Flush, Motion Sickness, Seeing Spots, Cold Shoulder, Charlie Horse, Bow-Legged, Change of Heart, and Swimmer’s Ear.
I love escape rooms and this DIY Christmas themed escape room is so much fun! Game includes a supply list and set up instructions. Set up the game with household items and real locks. This game challenging enough for adults, but includes tasks and challenges that the kids can do as well.
This fun, yet simple card game comes in several Christmas versions – Elf, Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Story and Rudolph. It’s a partner game so 4 or more players works well. Great for a family game to play throughout the holiday season. And if you like it, they have other non holiday versions as well.
